Sorry to interrupt with a rather unusual question... BUT, someone in some other thread mentioned a "lotus biscuit" and me was wondering, since I know of the lotus flower, is it made from that if it's real? And can I please have one? It sounds good...

Apparently they are caramelised biscwits SC. I've never tried them but when I was on the DIF Sean posted a picture of his work space, and on his desk was a cup of tea and a plate of biscwits. I asked him about it, and he said they were "Lotus" biscuits.
I've never tried them but I'll get some one day soon to see if they're dunkable and tasty biscwits :D
I'm not sure why they're called Lotus :think:

Anyway, I was at the fancy wine, spirits and more store today. I saw crumpets in the refrigerated area - for $30 bucks (19.19 pounds) (24 Euro)!!!!!! :O :O

Hmm, you say scone, I say biscuit (American). This is great break-through!

I, and another American, tried earnestly to describe biscuit to a lovely, British gentleman, even to the point of posting a recipe. Obviously, we did not explain ourselves properly as he didn't fully 'get it'.

Thank you, Irrie! Maybe that person, thanks to you, may understand now. :)

Still...are you guys all rich over there or what?! Who knew crumpets were so expensive?? :P

BTW, now I know what 'scone' is; It's a bit drier than a biscuit, and much drier than an English muffin (which is damn rubbery)....which you must just call a muffin. :D

When it all comes down to it coco, scones, crumpets, muffins, biscuits, etc. No matter what they're called, they'll all quickly disappear when I'm around :D
My mouth is watering again :D I might have some strawberry conserve sandwiches. It's French conserve, very good quality with big bits of strawberry in it :P

You have both got me fantasising about scones, strawberry jam (or preserve US) and clotted cream :angel:

There is a Victorian tea room a few cottages down from me who bake all their own stuff. They do all manner of home baked cake and biscuits too. If only we could all go over there together for some baked goodness :)

Btw coco, I like the idea of that bacon scone. Do you have them with or without syrup? That's something I picked up off TV, is it true you have bacon with maple syrup poured over it?

Strawberry jam and cream,with a scone , is the best. Or butter and jam is still yummy. or just butter. A hot scone straight out of the oven is so delicious.

( i cant even imagine a savoury topping on a scone... maybe if it is cold, then i would add butter and cheese and grill it. Hmmm, good idea, maybe savoury would be nice. :cool:

Maple syrup over bacon is truly delicious, if you aint tried that b4. Really yummy with pancakes, too. Gotta have fresh oj and coffee to make it all come to life in the bestest way ! :cheers:
