Mr. I,
Ever since I heard of the realistic idea to space mine almost a month ago, I've been reminded of the tale of beings from another planet come to Earth (a very long ago) to mine precious resources resulting in their creation of modern Man.
Kinda makes me wonder if we 'children' of these beings are now starting to increasingly imitate our 'parents'.
Also this account about The Ram-Sethu or Adam's Brige, or Rama's Bridge: The Ram-Sethu being built by the monkey - army under the supervision of 'Nalan.....
Just a thought.
If there is something to those stories, then I would surmise that those beings wouldn't have been much more technologically advanced than we are today. That might indicate that they were from a fairly near planet, or maybe of this planet. I don't see a super advanced interstellar species needing to do that, as asteroid mining would have higher mineral/metal-alloy yields. Robots would be ideal for that as well. They don't need to eat, sleep, can withstand temperatures that known biological creatures couldn't handle, and large amounts of radiation.
I think Coco is referring to the Annunaki, who supposedly genetically manipulated humans to mine gold for them (they need gold for some reason apparently - hence why Fort Knox is full of tungsten blanks), and this explains why there is evidence of gold mining some 10,000 yrs ago in Africa (why primative people would mine for gold which is dangerous, complicated and very difficult without good reason is beyond me). Humans were created to be biological robots and to be clever enough to mine gold, but dumb enough to be controlled, according to the theory.
Yeah, I'm familiar with Sitchin and Sumerian tablets. If there was an advanced species that genetically modified a workforce, I don't think they were from a distant solar-system/Galaxy/Dimension. Logically they would have been from a neighboring planet, or this planet. There appears to be more ambiguous information/evidence for them being ultraterrestrials. A super advanced species capable of interstellar travel wouldn't need to mine planets or create a genetically modified workforce. So basically I wasn't disagreeing with Coco, or even you. Andy and myself were just narrowing down possibilities.
