France’s foreign minister says that leaders of the Group of Eight world powers have suspended Russia’s participation in the club amid tensions over Ukraine and Russia’s incursion into Crimea.

The other seven members of the group had already suspended preparations for a G-8 summit that Russia is scheduled to host in June in Sochi.

That's right, the summit in Sochi. Of which Russia has the presidency.

If i were putin i'd be grabbing hold of the gas stop valve and turning it off about now.
My vocal accompanyment would be "fuck you then".

But putin plays the game better than me :emb:

So, I'm crap at this stuff, but have I got this right?

The West sanctions Russia, who turn the gas off (just as summer is coming). Their mate's the Chinese stop dealing with us, out of spite, and all our distribution wharehouses shut down. So we all get in a right mood, and attack them, then we all die, except me of course.

Is that about it? or did I miss a bit?

poor Russia, they always get such a bashing in the media, plus sanctions and are often made to sit on the naughty step. Remember when they invaded Afghanistan, there was such a hue and cry, countries were even boycotting the Olympics over it, yet when the UK took part in invading Afghanistan, we actually held the Olympics in London while we were still an occupying force over there and the media lauded our efforts to bring democracy to that troubled region, doesn't seem fair really:-)
