Happy father's day to you Sanctum Dads out there.

Form is merely a momentary manifestation of being, not a fixed reality.

History doesn't repeat itself, uninformed people repeat history.

To all progressive endeavors great or small, come unforeseen benefits on a scale larger than most give pause or contemplation of.

Sounds like a plan oi.

No obvious fathers day accolades for my parental struggles from my son yet...perhaps he's keeping me in suspense...

Both my son and daughter are traveling back from my nephew's wedding in St Helen's today.
That must be the reason there's no cards, calls, etc. :umm:

Nah, they've forgotten too. :D

Well I'm not a father, and I haven't seen mine for about 35 years.
So this day doesn't even register on my radar :chuckle:

I agree!

However, I bet if the tradition was "Score A Tenner Off Your Dad Day" there would be no forgettery in evidence. :chuckle:

I'm just chuffed they're there.

That's what I told my kids. I'm not really into the bogus holidays either. My kids went with my ex to Toronto for brunch with her Dad and family, then when they get back it's me and a big pan of nachos with cheese and veggies, salsa, and sour cream. I call it the Big Mess o' Nachos. :D

Peace and quiet, a good book, nice tea, a long bike ride this morning..... bliss. It shall be interrupted soon...

Happy Father's Day, fellas! ;)

It's also a year to the day that my anarcho 'dad' passed away so it's a bit of a weird mixture of feelings today.

Hope all you dad's had a good day, and you can't moan if you tell your kids you hate the day and it's all false then they don't acknowledge it.

Also thoughts with everyone who is thinking about their own dad who is no longer around. Mine hasn't be here since 1987 and fathers day always get's me thinking about him

I feel I should clarify it wasn't my actual dad, just a very significant comrade. Him and his wife were always like my(and others) anarcho parents to the extent that they came out to Greece for a family event. I never really realised what he meant to me until he'd gone :(

My condolences to those on the Forum whose Dads aren't around. I have to get cards for both my "step-dad" and my "real" dad. I know that really the day is just another way for card manufacturers to make money, but I still don't like to forget them! Mums have a special day, so why not dads too?

Some words for my dad courtesy of Ben Drew:

I don't hate ya
But I don't love ya neither
If we ever meet again
Cold is how I'm gonna treat ya
I won't hit ya
But I won't hug you neither
You mean nothing to me
You're just another geezer

Happy father's day Dad....;)

Hope all you sanctum dads had an awesome day :) x
