Is there a 'celebrity' who you consider to be utterly talentless? Who you believe has never produced anything of any worth whatsoever? Whose success is utterly baffling and incomprehensible to you?

There's two in this video for me, but I'm referring, in particular, to Mr. Moyles.

The true measure of a man is not his intelligence or how high he rises in this freak establishment. The true measure of a man is this: how quickly he can respond to the needs of others and how much of himself he can give - Philip K. Dick.

Moyles is as talented as this fella

My pet hate is Chris Tarentless, WWTBAM.

Notice how I said that with a Japanese accent.

Moyles is a c*nt.

I remember someone calling in to berate him about how he was taking the piss out of that retarded lad he used to ring up all the time. He deserved all of it.

The irish have their own equivalent over here who believe it or not had a wank on a ryanair flight in front of everyone, apologised for it...then ended up back in his job on the radio!!

Oh, where to begin???? :conf: As you say, wub, Chris Moyles and Alan Carr; in fact, all Radio One DJs and ALL of the supposedly comedic chat hosts. All reality show "stars"; Jordan and her ilk; all of the upper-class "models" stumbling up and down catwalks all over the world right now; any and all of the "spice girls" in their former and current careers; Simon Cowell; Piers Morgan; all of the royals, no matter how much the media proclaims they are "experts" at this that and the other.

That twit who does the driving show thingy - old, fat, ugly; and his hamster side-kick; Eamon Holmes, is it? and his dozy wife Ruth; Richard & Judy; that Lorraine chat show person too (all of the chat show people!).

OMG, and a whole Universe of supposed "stars" whose lights have long since gone out, if ever they were on.

:D

He is an absolutely atrocious human-being. Brought you to by the 'public service broadcasters' at the BBC!cantata wrote:

Apart from that you're largely indifferent!

Here's more television hell (I do slightly prefer Clarkson to McCall. Or perhaps I should say I find Clarkson slightly less loathsome than McCall).

Madonna, but I know why she is where she is. Most celebrities are inexplicably popular, IMO. Some have genuine talent and charisma, and belong where they are. Most don't.

This.

Since I no longer watch TV or really read msm, I no longer know who is a 'celebrity' and who isn't. And neither do I particularly give a shit.

Should a 'celebrity' stroll up to me demanding this and that, he/she'd get a bit of verbal off me, just like every other soul on the planet would. It's fairer like that, I reckon.

And I'm nothing if not fair.

I don't give celebrities much thought space.

They have nothing to offer.

Famous for being famous.

Almost everytime someone posts a link to the Daily Heil I wonder who all the people are that are being berated for what they wore or how much weight they've put on. :dunno:

Pretty much anyone who has Max Clifford handling their P.R.

Just thought of another one - Justin Bieber! All I can say is, thank God I'm not a teenage girl and am therefore under no obligation to fancy him!

I concur.

The really weird thing about him is, he actually looks a bit like a teenage girl to me! He is a lyrical genius, however...

Actually, thinking about it, my post really doesn't do the lyrics justice. Have some of this:

Bieber ALL up in your face, n shit.

Aaaawwww, it's not fair. I wish I could write that well. Some people are just so Bless'ed, made differently by The Gods...

Which brings me to my real point: no one is "talented" anyway. Talent is a taught thing, so people who are good at something have simply been taught it, practised it until they have perfected it and, usually, added in (or have been advised to add it) something of a personal slant of their own. S'all.

For all any of us know YOU reading this, yes, YOU could be the most fantastic ice skater, pianist, actor (think how much acting you do in a day already), jockey, mountaineer...

You just haven't or haven't had the interest or opportunity to try such things and find out, or be taught them.

What about soul though? Anyone can learn to play the guitar, but can they make you feel with it? Maybe that's what you meant by the personal slant thing though :D

Well, everyone has (a) soul and is free to apply it or not to what they are doing. Some things will appeal more than others; but when you learn something and find out you love doing it... the possibilities become endless with it.

So, the guitarist learns to play the instrument, loves the sound he makes, therefore gives it more time and dedication - et voila: the "great guitarist" is "born".

:)
