The honeypot.

He obviously lied to Manning and set him up.
He's also far too well educated looking at the interview text, I doubt this interview was done face to face but perhaps an exchange of emails and he was being 'managed'.

WikiLeaks publishes new documents from U.S. Defense Department

The website of Julian Assange WikiLeaks began publishing on Thursday over a hundred documents classified Defense Department U.S. grouped under "Detainee Policy", among which a "founding document" of the Guantanamo prison.

The manual of standard operating procedures (SOP) of Camp Delta, 2002, was one of the first records released this set of documents covering rules and methods for the treatment of U.S. military prisoners after the attacks of September 11, 2001 .

For Assange, who has taken refuge in the four months of Ecuador Embassy in London, this document that apparently inspired the manuals that governed after estadounidendenses other prisons in the world such as Abu Ghraib (Iraq), has a "significant historical importance."

"Guantanamo has become a symbol of the systematic abuses of human rights in the West for good reason," said the Australian, 41, quoted in the statement of your organization.

The files that WikiLeaks made available in chronological order for a month, includes manuals other detention centers, fragmentary orders detainee policy changes, instructions for conducting interrogations or routine on personal or medication.

Many of the documents are on Camp Bucca, in Iraq, although there are also about Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo and facilities in Europe.

"The 'political prisoners' show the anatomy of the beast that is the post September 11 detentions, creating a dark space where laws and rights do not apply where there are people who can be detained without any trace of convenience U.S., "says Assange.

"It shows the excesses of the early days of the war against an 'enemy' unknown and how these policies matured and evolved to lead to a permanent state of exception in which the U.S. is now, a decade later," he added.

WikiLeaks, inviting NGOs to study the documents, is once again the United States in the spotlight.

The website already angered Washington with the release of hundreds of thousands of secret U.S. documents about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, which followed 250,000 confidential cables from U.S. diplomats.

Since then, Assange, threatened with extradition to Sweden on suspicion of sexual assault, fears being extradited to the U.S., so it follows refuge in the embassy of Ecuador pending assurances in this regard.

I am more inclined to believe that Press for Truth is controlled opposition.

1) They question whether Assange is controlled opposition but don't supply the name of the author of the article nor does the news website give the name of the editor TMK.

2) Reducing EVERYTHING to the 9-11 question is fucking dumb: Tediously repetitive to the outsider and totally exaggerated in its significance (there are bigger and worse lies).

Lots of sneaky fuckers in the MSM and also on the "Truth" media are coming out with knives for Julian Assange: which convinces me that he is genuine and they are opportunistic shilling cunts.

End near as Assange's support grows: mum
5:21pm January 7, 2013

Julian Assange's mother fears for her son's wellbeing but insists governments won't be able to ignore the support growing behind his cause for much longer.

Australian-born Assange has been holed up in London's Ecuadorian embassy for more than six months to avoid being arrested and taken to Sweden to face sexual assault allegations.

He fears the move will eventually result in his extradition to the US to be prosecuted over the controversial release of secret US military and diplomatic files on his whistleblower website Wikileaks.

But his mother Christine Assange says the US government's witch hunt against her son has highlighted its efforts to suppress freedom of information and free speech in a range of areas.

She says while support for Assange continues to grow worldwide, it has become a political movement that has grown bigger than Wikileaks and threatens to have ramifications at ballot boxes, especially in Australia.

Assange will run as a senate candidate in this year's federal election under a yet-to-be-formed Wikileaks party banner and is recruiting others to stand with him.

"This has become political now," Ms Assange told AAP on Monday.

"You wouldn't believe the cross-section of people that are now supporting Julian's new party."

She said support for her son was evident in the number of people keeping a vigil outside the Ecuadorian embassy.

But Ms Assange fears the isolation in the embassy and the threats he faces if he leaves may be starting to get to him.

"Any person who is locked up under that sort of pressure without sunlight or fresh air is going to be suffering," she said.

"He's very resilient, but he is human and of course this is part of their strategy.

"They can't charge him, they've got no evidence."

Assange has not left the embassy since he sought political asylum in June.

The building is under constant police guard, with officers ordered to arrest him if he leaves.

Julian Assange Set to Address Oxford Union

By Dominic Gover | January 10, 2013 2:13 AM EST
Julian Assange

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is to escape the confines of his Embassy bolthole - well, sort of.

Assange, who is wanted for questioning by police in Sweden over sex assault claims, has taken sanctuary at the Ecuadorian embassy in London and will be arrested by police as soon as he is steps out of the building.

However, this has not stopped the 41-year-old hacker and activist from agreeing to speak to the Oxford Union, via video link.

Assange's speech will be beamed into a Union meeting on 23 January. Student organisers hailed him as a champion of "freedom" and added: "Known worldwide as the founder and public face of WikiLeaks, Julian Assange has made headlines accross the world by exposing government misconduct.

"He has championed the principle of freedom of information, yet some have criticised his activities as reckless and dangerous.

"Under Assange's leadership, WikiLeaks has published innumerable classified diplomatic cables and played a crucial role in shaping the international political landscape."

More than six months have passed since Assange fled into the Ecuadorian Embassy, in central London, to avoid extradition to Sweden.

The Australian has expressed fears he may also be extradited to America over the leaking of secret files which Wikileaks published.

United States soldier Bradley Manning is standing trial for handing over the files, which exposed embarrassing military and diplomatic information.

During his self-imposed confinement, Assange has been visited by pop star Lady Gaga dressed as a witch, and made a much-lampooned 'el-Presidente' style Chrismas address from the balcony of the Embassy last month

Assange indicated then that he was prepared to end his spell beyond the reach of the law, provided he received guarantees that protected him from potential extradition to the United States.

Julian Assange will publish in March a "Manual of insurrection"

Julian Assange will publish in March a "Manual of insurrection"
Posted by Editor on VAD-November 29, 2012

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange refuged in the Embassy of Ecuador in London for five months, published in March 2013 in the Robert Laffont will publish a "Handbook of insurrection. How Internet is watching us, "said the editor.

This is a book as a conversation between Australian Julian Assange 41 years, researchers and experts on the Internet: the American Jacob Appelbaum (computer security specialist), Germany's Andy Müller-Maguhn (surveillance techniques and deciphering internet ) and French Jérémie Zimmermann, spokesman for La Quadrature du Net (Squaring the Net), European Association of safeguarding liberties online.

Assange, which the Ecuadorian ambassador in the UK suffers from a lung condition, took refuge in the Embassy of Ecuador in London on June 19 to avoid an imminent extradition to Sweden on suspicion of four counts of sexual assault, which he has always denied .

Assange is still waiting to get a pass or a guarantee that it will not be extradited to the United States after the government of Rafael Correa in August to grant him political asylum.

The activist fears that the ultimate goal is delivery to that country, where he could apply the death penalty for the disclosure of tens of thousands of U.S. secret or confidential documents via WikiLeaks.

At the moment, negotiations between Ecuador and the United Kingdom have failed.

Chilean Embassy in Ecuador refuses to participate in CIA plot to discredit Correa

For Truth Now | 09/01/2013 - 15:52 | Rating: 0

In a press release, the Chilean consulate in Quito refused to participate in a campaign to destabilize the government of Rafael Correa, calling the allegations by journalist Patrick Mery as "irresponsible".

In recent days, Mery said the drugs found in a pouch of Ecuador in Italy, in January 2012, was part of a CIA plan to affect the image of Correa. The Ecuadorian Ministry reported at the time that the controversy "narcovalija" used by the opposition to denigrate the Ecuadorian government, bore the stamp of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile.

The journalist's accusations were collected by Ecuador's Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño, who received "videos, testimonials, a lot of information (and) a complete list of names of CIA Chilean and Ecuadorian" during a visit to that country Patricio Mery .

According to the complaint, the government representatives of Sebastian Piñera and civilian police would be working with U.S. intelligence to smuggle large quantities of cocaine from Bolivia, in an operation that seeks to use drug profits to fund covert operations against democracies Latin America.

The entry of the drug is the same as was reported by former inspector of PDI, Fernando Ulloa, followed by the concealment of then Interior Minister Rodrigo Hinzpeter, in May 2011.

"It is not ruled out that this information (on the bag) is true, everything done by the CIA in Chile and other Latin American countries," said Foreign Minister Patiño in a press conference outlined by the state agency Andes.

In a public statement (see. Pdf here), the Embassy of Chile in Ecuador rejected "in the strongest terms any shred of credibility that could be attributed to the information provided by the Chilean journalist Patricio Mery the Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño, respect a Chilean involvement in an alleged attempt to destabilize the government of Ecuador ", as we read in the paper.

The Chilean consulate states that responded to all the questions raised by the DPP on narcovalija Ecuador, "completely ruled out the participation of Chilean officials in this case." The statement also branded Mery allegations as "irresponsible".

The journalist Patrick Mery, back to Chile, said the Chilean embassy lied "blatantly" the government of Rafael Correa.

"You must explain how the official seal of Chile reached the pouch. Seals do not think you walk alone, "said the director of Ecuador Panoramas Immediate Media News. "I demand the Chancellor Moreno of Chile to clarify the statements of its employee in Ecuador, I want to know if the official opinion of the Chilean Government," summoned.

The documents, audio and video delivered by Mery Patino will be considered by the intelligence service of Ecuador, said the foreign minister.

The Chilean press, allied with the government of Piñera, continues its media blackout on these serious allegations.

Julian Assange could be sentenced to life imprisonment or the death penalty for spying

SANTIAGO. AFP. It is a "brutal" than the controversial founder of Wikileaks, Julian Assange, to be convicted of espionage and thus face the death penalty or life imprisonment, said Wednesday in Santiago his attorney, former Spanish judge Baltasar Garzon. "To me that (his revelations in Wikileaks), not criminal or much less can determine a estimated penalties of the act as spying could lead to life imprisonment or the death penalty," said former judge in an interview with radio cooperative. "I think a brutality".

It is clear that persecution and the Ecuadorian government granted diplomatic asylum, "he added. Garzon, former judge of the Spanish National Court, defends Assange, wanted by Swedish justice accused of sexual abuse cases. Former Australian hacker is for more than six months in refugee Ecuador's embassy in London for fear of being finally extradited to the United States where he could face espionage charges.

Ecuador granted political asylum to Assange on 16 August, after the government of that country to assess "was no danger to life or freedom permanently extradition to a third country outside Sweden to declare and also because there strong indications that not be respected due process, "according to President Rafael Correa recently.

"Julian Assange what he wants is accountable to the Swedish justice, but with assurances that it will not be extradited to the United States," Garzon said Wednesday.

The WikiLeaks website revealed, among other information, thousands of classified U.S. secret diplomatic documents, especially sonre the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
