No....to attempt to blame the UK or its people for the existence of the EU is just ridiculous, end of.

Was Hitler our fault too?
Where you are consistently missing the point is that you talk in terms of geography instead of people, corporations and institutions who laugh at your quaint but defunct distinctions.

Talking in terms of geography, are you proud to be Scottish feather? Because a hell of a lot of your fellow countrymen are....and they make those 'quaint & defunct distinctions' too. & good for them I say. ;)

I've said before I'm relieved to be Scottish/British/European because I could have been a fucking sight less fortunate.
What do I have to be proud of?
I was dropped here, I had no input in the matter.
Some Scots have done incredible things, not because they were Scottish but because they were incredible people.
Each race and creed has them.
Again I have no more business being proud of something I wasn't involved with than I should feel shame for the fact that some Scotsmen have been extraordinary savage bastards or members of the Bay City Rollers.

Actually the circumstances which gave rise to Hitler, the punitive reparations after WWI which were crippling Germany, (which of course was their intention), is easily traced back to the same Empirical profiteers.

The Scottish independence thing is starting to gain momentum up here atm.

I'm proud to be English, and of England's 'identity', which has something to do with all the people who live here.

Nationalism doesn't necessarily mean racism believe it or not. Chinese takeaways & Indian curry houses are just as English as the pub, real ale & fish and chips in my book, and I love em all.

If that makes me a 'little englander', so be it. ;)

Because England is different than Albania! The people of each of the two countries have their own ways of doing things, their own likes & dislikes, their own preferred cuisine....their own CULTURE!
