ETA: @ Coco - seriously, Ireland is trying NOT to win! Really. They won several years in a row and had to finance the following year's contest and it costs HUGE amounts of money. Right now, they haven't a penny-piece, so winning would be a disaster.

Jedward guarantees the loss. Two years in a row now. That's their real use: Losers to be laughed at and dismissed, but who get paid very very well for it.

I confess that OH and I watched all 3.5 hours of Eurovision last night - it's so bad, it's good!

Our favourite songs were Hungary and Cyprus. I couldn't believe Albania's effort, from that shrieking banshee woman with what looked like an onion bhaji on her head - it was mental! It did pretty well, though!

I guess the winner - Sweden - wasn't too bad. At least they can afford to host it next year!
