GANGS of provocateurs – including the notorious Rebel Clown Army – are planning a summer of disruption in Scotland for the 30th anniversary of Faslane Peace Camp.
The troublemakers are expected to join the permanent protesters near HM Naval Base Clyde, home to Britain’s nuclear submarine fleet, for a month-long campaign of action.
The plans for “30 days of insubordination” include blockades and marches, with organisers warning that “brushes with the law are guaranteed”.

There are also fears that the Clandestine Insurgent Rebel Clown Army (CIRCA), which is planning to descend on Faslane on July 7, will attract more violent protesters.(not that it doesn't have enough already)
Although supposedly peaceful, the clowns have become a familiar sight at anti-capitalist riots across Britain, Europe and North America.

During the 2005 G8 summit at Gleneagles, police suspected they were being used to draw attention away from attempts to sabotage the world leaders’ meeting. They were also present when a protest in Edinburgh turned violent.
A spokesman for the group said: “A new Army of Rebel Clowns from all over Britain is trained and ready to join our international comrades and peace camp friends to PARTY on the 30th anniversary of resisting nuclear nonsense at Faslane.”
Earlier this year, the clowns held an “Arming up for Faslane” two-day training camp in London to prepare for the protests in Scotland.

The Sunday Express tracked down one of the organisers, who said: “I’m not going to tell you anything apart from that you are welcome to come and join us on the day if you want to and we’ll talk to you then.”
Last night politicians, defence experts and police warned activists to “stay within the law”.
Francis Tusa, editor of monthly newsletter, Attack Analysis, said the “wrong type of protesters” could see things
“hot up” very quickly.
He added: “If someone goes with the attitude of ‘I have the right to protest anywhere I want’ – just try breaking into a nuclear weapons bunker and see how far that will get you.
“It may not be a good idea because people have the right to use deadly force [to protect it]. If people try to do silly things they need to realise there are armed guards by the nuclear weapons.”
Conservative Highlands and Islands MSP Jamie McGrigor, a supporter of the base and the jobs it brings, said he trusted the permanent camp members would keep strangers “in check”.
He said: “Most of the peace camp people are well-behaved and, of course, we respect their rights to protest peacefully according to their conscience.”
Jackie Baillie, Labour MSP for Dumbarton said: “In situations where a large number of people come together, safety is paramount and I am sure that this will be the focus of both Strathclyde Police and the MoD Police.”
A spokeswoman for Strathclyde Police said their officers were well prepared for the month of action.
The mayhem began yesterday when three protesters scaled the Finnieston crane in Glasgow and attached a banner to its arm. The break-in took place at about 6:30am.
