That is a bloody shame Anthony65, Shodan, and Boywonder. So they are all voluntary inactive ? I didnt realise they had left, til now :(

I have quickly looked up the reason why Anthony left and I can FULLY understand why. It's a shame cos that fellow had some brill posts. I havent checked out Shodan and Boywonder yet to see why they went. But I will do. Gutted!

Boywonder is not all that clear cut.
Shodan...I've no idea. I can't see any upset or discontent anywhere so I'm assuming Shodan is just busy with other stuff at the moment?

Thanks Andy, I will see if I can find something out. Off to bed shortly though so it will be tomorrow hopefully.

Is that true Frog? I never knew that. I assumed you're involved because like pretty much all of us you want to try and build a superb forum/community of people living through these times (for want of a better way of putting it) . Guess it's another reminder for me not to make assumptions :)

Anyway it looks to me that Anthony has gone inactive stemming from my reporting the apparent acceptance of far right views at the DIF, which he doesn't agree with. I respect his point of view but am sad that he chose to go inactive on the forum because of it. I'm not the forum, I'm one person doing what I feel is right for me to do in the moment. That's all. Please bear that in mind Anthony and don't let it affect your presence in this community. You have much to offer the place, as does it you :)

Boywonder seems to have gone inactive stemming from his interaction with Mikey about RT. I'd say the same to yourself Boywonder as I just said to Anthony. :)

Shodan. I really don't know why you have gone inactive at the moment. It's news to me :( But, again I say please consider that you have much to offer the place, as does it you :)

And I'd like to take the chance to say the same to any other inactive members. For me personally, a particular poster I'd like to see back is the apprentice. We don't always see eye to eye but his input into self help topics like the veg thread etc was invaluable. Undescribably invaluable. I don't think it's a surprise that that area of the forum has been much quieter in his absence.
Come back app please :)

As I said that was ONE of the main reasons because they were decent people with positive and pleasant attitudes etc. Another aspect of my involvement was to try and provide a platform where people could promote positive and proactive grass roots projects. Ones that have realistic and have achievable aims that are actively engaged in community action or productive alternative life styles. Another reason was to create a platform where people could establish a safe house which they could rely on to keep in touch with like minded people that they meet either here or elsewhere. Another was to give people the opportunity to present their own information about the issues or areas they are interested in. People have been offered the opportunity to contribute to the blog either as individuals or in cooperation with others - everyone can also access their MyZone page to present their information. How people set about using the site is entirely down to them. That's just an overview of some aspects of why I got involved. There are also more personal aspect such as the way people were and are treated elsewhere. I also got where DG, Novum, Psketti etc. coming from, and offered some assistance to help them setup an independent site, which would be free of the constraints of the free hosting service. Blar blar blar.
Anyway it looks to me that Anthony has gone inactive stemming from my reporting the apparent acceptance of far right views at the DIF,

That's one way of interpreting what he said - I dare say other people read what he said and drew different conclusions.
Boywonder seems to have gone inactive stemming from his interaction with Mikey about RT.

I'm not sure that it was as a direct result of that one isolated event.
Shodan. I really don't know why you have gone inactive at the moment. It's news to me :( But, again I say please consider that you have much to offer the place, as does it you :)

Maybe some people just like to make a quiet exit for whatever reason and get on with more productive things elsewhere.

It's rather disappointing that some of the good and positive members have felt that the SZ doesn't offer them what they were looking for. I'm sure they are aware that they are welcome to pop in and out as and when they want to.

All good with me. I think in my case for certain that the blogging and MyZone sections are just a tad daunting. I wouldn't really know where to start tbh. Hopefully others will be more tech savvy and your efforts in preparing the ground in those areas will start to yeild more fruit soon.

I've read it back a couple of times and yes I can see that there is more to it. Anthony's request to go inactive did seem to "stem" from the discussion with me though even after reading it back. Stem doesn't mean because btw ;)

Me either, thats why I used the words "seems" and "stemming" ;)

Interesting that you don't seem to think being active here is a particularly productive thing to do :conf:

It's interesting that that is how you interpret what I said. What I said was maybe they want to get on with more productive things elsewhere. Productive for them in their lives and suited to their situations. Should I have said - maybe they want to doss about in front of the TV rather than being front line worrier for freedom on the SZ?

The point is they aren't here and they are welcome to contribute here as and when they feel like it. Being a member isn't an obligation to be active constantly. I dare say a number of people are happy just reading other peoples views and opinions without a personal desire to post.

Wtf is going on on this forum these days?

It's a bit more Conflict Zone than Sanctum Zone :dunno:

The tone and vibe has gone very very shit indeed.

I think that any new situation has growing pains, and that many still have residual effects from being on the other forum, that was not as free expression friendly as this one is, and people will eventually blend together more in good communication, and learn from each other than it's not a competition, or a one up mentality, but a mind expanding experience and friendly interaction.

To hang tough and grow is a good skill to to have in my opinion, and the way I look at it is you can't control what someone else wants to do, they have to follow their own mind.

You in my opinion are a rock on this forum and one of it's most valuable members to have.

Thanks Rick :emb:

Yeah you're right...people need to say what they need to say. It's just taken on a different, less positive feel in recent days.

I like to say my piece, tackle problems head on, hopefully find a solution, then move on. That's why I find giant merry go round threads frustrating, because as we've seen on other forums, nothing ever gets solved, ever. And these people, these handful of people are a minority of a minority. 99.99% of the world population doesn't know about these people or the threads they partake in. It all seems so futile and pointless.
People just like arguing I suppose. I do on occasion :chuckle:

The best thing I can do is not go near those threads.

Excellent thoughts  Personally I'm not seeing any competition or anything, I'd say we have reached an interesting stage of getting to know one another shall I say. Others will of course have a different view.

Hmmph, so many have left. Please don't go, good people, I love this place and your talks, debates and ramblings. Some times people just seem to take this internet forum stuff little bit too personally and maybe too seriously too. It's not all that deadly serious business, dust will always settle anyway, heated arguments will always be part of internet communications, as long as we can say what we want and there's actual people doing the talking.

In the end, it's all good anyway, trolls get kicked, some stay and others move on, that's life. But anthony, shodan and boywonder, please know that you're all missed and the door's always open for you guys to come back and have some talks and debates and ramblings. :grouphug:

Tkaing a break really cleans the air a lot... Always worth doing me thinks, forums get boring and exhausting at times, being off for few days helps.
