You aren't mental for blocking the camera on your laptop either... There was a case in 2010 over here in the states where teachers were spying on children through school issued laptops while they were at home. They did so through software they installed that remotely activated the camera.

The internet was in a little bit of an uproar, so a rebuttal was issued by a company rep. To the best of my knowledge, that hasn't been made a reality. I would say public reaction may have had a hand in it.

The last mobile I bought, before I gave them up completely, used to switch itself on and all sorts.

It would be sat there sometimes, not on charge or anything, and the display would suddenly come to life and sometimes it would beep as well, as if someone, somewhere was tinkering with it.

I have a very simple philosophy on telephonic communication these days:

If I'm not home, you CANNOT speak to me. Imagine that?

Also, sometimes even if I am home, I just won't answer the phone either, cos I'm a bitch like that.

Similarly, I WILL NOT be providing you with regular updates on my whereabouts or what I'm up to on Facebook, as I don't have an account. If you'd really like to know, you could try calling me. Maybe I'll answer, maybe I won't. Depends what kind of mood I'm in.

I was watching a newer movie recently, Lockdown. Ridiculously stupid movie, but that aside, they had a rather large emphasis on vitals monitoring microchips. The president and his daughter were outfitted with them. They were shown to be useful, and was used to save the president's daughter. It's as if it were an attempt to inject justification for them into the minds of the public.
