Good interview. Cheers feather. I've been meaning for quite some time to look into this man in more depth - I expect now I will after watching that.

That one sentence alone is quite mindboggling and forgive my ignorance, is one I was unaware of... or had never really thought about. It puts into perspective how easy it will actually be to monitor those of us that do.

Andrew Marr is an educated and intelligent guy - it kinda proves Chomsky's point (and is a bit disturbing) how through the whole interview he doesn't seem quite able to grasp Chomsky's argument.

I expect he went home to re-educate himself on a few things after that. He clearly was rendered quite speechless at times and fumbled badly at others.

I don't think he even needed to re-educate himself. I think it just didn't compute. Like he just didn't seem to understand or at least take in the Watergate/cointelpro comparison - which was a very straightforward point. And it's really ironic because he came across as an embodiment of Chomsky's point about "filters". And confirmed the probable reason he's such an eminent journalist - he genuinely can't get his head round how he's operating in the service of power. Fair enough he could disagree and formulate a counter-argument - at least he'd understand what was being said in the first place.

There's no disputing that.

I still think it will prompt him to clarify for himself all the points Chomsky made given that it's his profession to do so. If nothing else so he can get some peace of mind. I know I would in that position.
