I prefer "intervention", sounds like a session of couples counselling rather than a vast array of bombs and other weaponry.

There is probably quite few "advisers" there already.

I'd like to see the foreign agents withdrawn, the ceasefire respected and a dialogue entered into by all internal parties (I must be a Russian ;) ). Not very likely to happen with all the rhetoric flying about though is it sadly.

I suppose they are not going to compare to punching someones little brother(Syria) because you are scared of out right attacking the older brother (Iran) who you have the real problem with.

I find it rather strange that most Americans don't see through the fact that America supports some of the most radical fundamentalists in the middle east (saudi arabia) while attacking fairly moderate islamic countries ,Iran,Syria,Iraq,Libya .

they hate our free dums :spank:

Tbh bats I really haven't got a clue what's the real story over there. There's so much rhetoric and bluster from all angles and very little actual evidence that you may as well stick a pin in it all with a blindfold on to try and find the truth. :dunno:

What people seem to be missing is the hate between the different sects of Islam. The Russians got caught with the pants down arming Assads Alawites with helicopter gunships. The west are arming the opposition because they can see that if Assad falls it will have a negative impact of Irans influence and Hezbollah's as well.

So the bloodshed will continue at a pace and it wont quite become like Bosnia because that was a 3 way war.

Now the Syrians have shot down a Turkish air force plane, im sure the Turks will be falling over themselves now with S/F going in and causing more havoc.

Aye, the factions of Islam would be the ones I was referring to as 'internal'. I note with interest that today the BBC are running a story with the line that the Turkish Phantom "may have strayed into Syrian territory"......They also claim in the article that this happens regularly when fast jets are involved. Tiz a bloody good job that civvy jets don't have such a lack of knowing where they are skills eh ;) It'd be carnage!

Why the wink dubs do you know something ?
Every event is not orchestrated or controlled. In a war zone militias and commanders spring up without the knowledge or even consent of the Governments/Intel agencies supplying the equipment/funding. This can lead to a major fuck up with or as we call it Murphy's law.
Who knows what the mission brief was, but I'm sure it was not go get shot down and kill yourself or risk getting killed.

The wink was there to highlight the obvious daftness of the implied claim that military planes don't know where they are ;)

Who knows why this plane was intentionally in Syrian airspace? I certainly don't.One thing I am pretty certain of though is that it wasn't there accidentally as a result of the pilot/ground crew not knowing where it was.
